I have tried many different types of alternative healthcare over the last few years. Cupping in China, ayurveda in India and being whipped by a birch stick in Russia. Just about the only thing I have yet to try is Acupuncture Peterborough and that will have to go on my list some time soon.
I don't know what it is about these that intrigue me, but I like to be adventurous and will give most things a go at least once. The China incident was quite interesting even if it did take place in front of the rest of the passengers on the cruise ship. And the bruising was a sight to behold.
The Indian affair was just plain weird. Most of the treatments were fine but I could not call being pummelled by several women with red hot pouches of herbs exactly relaxing. Once the burning had subsided, though, I did enjoy the holiday!
And the Russian experience was out of this world. I was not convinced of the healthcare benefits, especially due to the vodka, but my hosts told me that it purges the toxins rather effectively. Hot sauna, then being whipped lightly with birch sticks and to top it all off diving in the snow outside. Now that's a real sociable evening!
I am just making up my mind on what to try next!
